People who want to harm our kids offer a counterfeit version of what we all need--connection and care. Did you know that many traffickers lure kids in with clothes, shoes, food and fake concern?

 

When we give vulnerable kids real connection, community, and brand new, dignity-giving clothing, we meet these basic needs so they're not as vulnerable to traffickers. While doing this, we can also educate kids on the tricks of traffickers so that they are better able to protect themselves.

 

Our prevention effort is modeled after a proven program with a 16-year track record of giving foster and at-risk youth dignity through vetted, trained, caring volunteers in a private, shame-free boutique that allows them to choose 5 brand new, fashion current outfits, one pair of shoes, socks, undies, and a coat in the winter. The clothing is purchased wholesale, so the cost is only $130 per child!

 

Volunteers provide a healthy, caring connection, help with clothing selection, and tips to avoid traffickers. The clothing meets a need that helps to alleviate the shame of poverty and family dysfunction. Plus appropriate clothing gives teens a better chance of hire in a job interview. Together, all of this gives dignity to kids who desperately need it.
